Tulip Time fills Corbett Gardens, in the middle of Bowral, with mass plantings of tulips and spring annuals, a short walk from the main street and the train station. Wingecarribee Shire Council runs it, and shire residents get in free with proof of address. Everyone else pays a modest entry fee, a little cheaper online than at the gate, and children under 12 are free. Go on a weekday morning for a quieter look, then make a day of the Southern Highlands.

Getting there: Corbett Gardens is a six-minute walk from Bowral station along Wingecarribee Street. There is no event parking, so use the surrounding streets, the Merrigang Street car park or the station car park, and allow extra time at peak periods.
